Goal of the Course
The course aims at providing a conceptual framework for digital libraries, illustrating the relationships between people, content and technologies.
It will review how technologies can enhance the way in which users create and access digital content, including efficient information retrieval and services to improve interaction and usability.

Results and Acquired Competences
At the end of the course, students should be able to make the following choices and judgments for what concerns the selection and deployment of Digital Libraries:
- · Select appropriately from different technologies, procedures and equipment.
- · Make appropriate judgments about information architecture and user needs
- · Plan and justify research proposals and technological choices
- · Have a better understanding of the impact of the digital environment in Archives, Libraries and Museums (ALM) and of the changing role of the information professionals.
